Komdigi Reports 300 Job Fraud Cases Involving Indonesian Migrant Workers

Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) received more than 300 public reports related to fraudulent job vacancies targeting Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). These scams were largely found on digital platforms, ranging from social media to online job portals, offering tempting promises such as high salaries and fast recruitment processes.

In response, Kemkomdigi carried out intensive monitoring in the digital space and took down fictitious and illegal job vacancy content. The government has also strengthened coordination with the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) to prevent the spread of misleading information and to protect prospective migrant workers from illegal recruitment practices.
